Audi Q5 vs Infiniti EX 03/30/2011
Luxury crossovers are some of the nicest vehicles on the market when it comes to high-end models that will accommodate the whole family. But which one to pick?
We compared two models that have the exact same MSRP, the Audi Q5 and Infiniti EX. Both of these models retail for $35,200. However, the Infiniti has a slightly better warranty at 6 years/70,000 miles, compared to just 4 years/50,000 miles on the Audi.
Not only does the EX have a better warranty, but it's also superior under the hood, sporting a V6 engine while the Q5 is stuck with an inline-four. That means Infiniti drivers will be enjoying 297 horsepower compared to just 211 hp on the Audi, although the Q5 does have slightly better torque at 258 lb-ft compared to 253. It's worth noting that the Audi is superior in terms of fuel economy, with 20/27 mpgs compared to 17/24 on the Infiniti.
The interior of the two vehicles are closely matched, but the Infiniti gets the slight edge thanks to its keyless ignition and iPod hookup, features which aren't present on the standard edition of the Q5.
Overall, we prefer the EX thanks to its better warranty, extra horsepower and improved interior, all for the same price.
