Aston Martin racing schools let drivers out on the track 08/12/2010

Many drivers wish they could get behind the wheel of an Aston Martin, but don't have the bank account to make that dream come true. But for a price, drivers can test drive one of the vehicles - while getting a professional performance driving lesson.

The British automaker has opened several driving academies across the globe, with outposts in Belgium, England and Michigan in the U.S. Now, the automaker is bringing the school to the legendary Nurburgring track in Germany. According to MotorTrend, Aston Martin has opened a performance driving institute at the track that will teach students the ins and outs of track racing in a professional environment.

This isn't the type of driving school where students sit in a classroom all day. Students enrolled in the Aston Martin brand of driving instruction could be hitting 170 mph in a Vantage or DBS. Once drivers prove their mettle, they'll be able to hit the 13.5-mile Nordschleife section of the track as their "final exam." A one-day course reportedly costs $2500, but drivers will be given a variety of settings to test out their temporary rides and can earn their track certification upon completion.

No word yet on whether the reportedly $1.4 million Aston Martin One-77 will make an appearance as a vehicle of choice, but it doesn't seem likely.ADNFCR-3028-ID-19922772-ADNFCR
