Albert has decided to go green for his wedding ride 05/26/2011
Now that the Royal Wedding is officially over and done with, people are talking about the next nuptials that are set to take place this summer. Prince Albert II of Monaco is set to wed former Olympic swimmer and South African beauty Charlene Wittstock, and unlike the last major wedding event, the couple is looking to go green with their transportation choices.
Albert, the son of famed actress and beauty Grace Kelly, has decided that his ride of choice during his wedding will be a Lexus LS 600h L hybrid. There are a number of analysts who think the same thing we do, this is definitely a statement that is unlike any other royal event that we've seen in a while.
The car is 17 feet long and also has an extra five inches of legroom for the royal couple, which will give the royal couple a sense of luxury while still choosing a car that benefits the environment. This will be the first hybrid model to ever be used for a royal wedding.
"A royal wedding is a special occasion that calls for a special car, but it's also a day to make a statement," said Vincent Liuzzi, general manager of Lexus of Watertown, a Greater Boston Lexus dealership. "Prince Albert II's choice is an unorthodox one, but it shows his dedication to bucking old inefficient trends and moving on to new greener practices. It's a feat that can only be pulled off by a model like the LS 600h L, because it's a top-tier luxury vehicle that won't look out of place during the festivities."
