Acura to bring 'refreshed' TL to Chicago Auto Show 01/26/2011
Acura, the semi-luxury division of Japanese carmaker Honda, will unveil a "refreshed" version of its TL mid-sized sports car at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show, reports Car and Driver.

The car company has not revealed many details about the new version of the car, although the upgrade will reportedly be the first major change to the car since the model's fourth generation was unveiled in 2009.

Among the changes that the source expects to be made are modifications to controversial exterior details present on the current version of the car. Those controversial features include an eye-catching front grille and an angular rear end.

The new vehicle is expected to include a 305 horsepower 3.7-liter V6 engine and a six-speed automatic transmission, which replaces the five-speed transmission used in earlier models. The six-speed unit will reportedly help improve the car's fuel economy.

As far as the interior of the vehicle is concerned, the source reports that Acura is expected to make few major changes, although the carmaker will likely include new technology and driver aids.
