Acura ZDX vs BMW X5 03/02/2011
It seems as if nearly every luxury brand now features a crossover, which can make deciding between them a bit difficult. We recently compared two of the more popular models in the segment, the Acura ZDX and BMW X5, to see which one offered drivers more bang for their buck.

The ZDX is the cheaper of the two vehicles at $45,645, while the X5 costs $46,300 . Acura's model also comes with a 6 year/70,000 mile powetrain warranty, which is a significant upgrade over BMW's 4 year/50,000 mile pledge.

Both models use six cylinder engines, but BMW opts for an inline configuration while the ZDX uses a V6. The two cars are exactly matched in horsepower at 300 apiece, but the BMW offers more torque at 300 lb-ft than the ZDX at 270. The X5 also gets slightly better fuel economy at 17 city/25 highway mpgs compared to the ZDX's 16/23.

On the inside, Acura outfits the ZDX with more standard features than the X5. Drivers will get Bluetooth connectivity, an iPod hookup and heated seats, all of which cost extra for the X5.

In the end, we give the nod to the Acura ZDX, as it doesn't sacrifice that much power while offering better features and warranty at a cheaper price.
