Acura RDX vs Volvo XC60 03/31/2011
Drivers have a plethora of options when it comes to choosing a crossover vehicle, so picking the right one can be tricky. To help make the process a bit easier, we compared two models side-by-side, the Acura RDX and Volvo XC60, to see which offered drivers the better value.
These two cars are close in price, with the RDX costing $32,620 and the XC60 at $32,400. The Acura has the superior warranty at 6 years/70,000 miles, beating out Volvo's 5 years/60,000 pledge.
Under the hood, the XC60 has a six-cylinder engine while the RDX has a four-cylinder, however the RDX actually ends up with the superior performance. Both cars produce 240 horsepower, but the RDX has 260 lb-ft of torque while the XC60 only offers 236.
When it comes to the interior, we prefer the Volvo. Not only does the car come with HD radio standard, but it also has a number of optional add-ons that aren't even available on the Acura, like parking assistance, a rear seat DVD player and keyless ignition. Best of all, drivers can purchase these features at will without having to invest in a more expensive trim level.
However, it's ultimately not enough to push it past the RDX, as the superior power and warranty ultimately make the Acura the better vehicle.
