2011 Suzuki Grand Vitara drops V-6 powertrain option 12/16/2010
People looking to purchase a new 2011 Suzuki Grand Vitara will only be given one choice for the vehicle's powertrain, as Suzuki has streamlined the array of options available for the vehicle.

According to Auto 123, the V-6 powertrain option that had previously been available for the Grand Vitara has been eliminated, meaning that the car will only be offered with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that has proven popular with consumers in the two years it has been available.

The four-cylinder engine produces 166 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque, and the car features a four-speed automatic transmission. The compact SUV also features all-wheel drive and a towing capacity of 3,000 pounds.

The car comes with three trim levels. The baseline JX features 17-inch alloy wheels, power heated mirrors, power windows, automatic climate control, a six-CD changer, an intelligent key system and other amenities. The mid-range JLX adds fog lamps, heated front seats, a subwoofer and a power sunroof, while the top-of-the-line JLX-L adds leather upholstery.

The 2011 Grand Vitara JX starts from $27,995 before tax.
